r. bedford: Go to menu > channel > manual store, then input channel 55 (frequency 746MHz and 8MHz if required) if you want to manually tune in the BBC channels from Midhurst.

If it doesn't allow you to do that, go to menu > setup > plug and play to reset the TV.

r. bedford: Then you'll need to press either the TV button, or source button then select DTV.

First rule before you do anything is check the TV is actually in digital mode and not try to display non-existent analogue channels!

r. bedford: Ok, then try pressing button 2 for channel 2, then once it goes to it, press button 2 again and it should switch back to DTV mode.

r. bedford: Do you have the operating manual for your TV? because if not I will attempt to paste in the "plug and play" section as on having had a look through same, it is as was expected with any Samsung manual, horrendous!!

I found the apparent solutions on another site whereby I accessed the 'hidden' menu. It told me to do a factory reset which would bring back the dtv option. I did this but am still left with atv. It was also suggested pressing the tv button a few times to enable it to switch from analogue to digital but this does nothing either. This factory reset actually takes you through plug and play but when that finishes I'm left with the same problem

r. bedford: If you now have the manual stored? then when going through the "plug and play" menu the important section that determines whether DTV or analogue is scanned starts from paragraph 4.

4. Press the ENTER button then select the appropriate country by pressing the or button. Press the ENTER button to confirm your choice.

5. Press the or button to select Air or Cable, then press the ENTER button.

Air: Air antenna signal - Cable: Cable antenna signal.

6. Press the or button to select the channel source to memorize. (Digital or Analogue) Press the ENTER button to select Start.
