liam maginess: It should be a Freeview HD box. The NI Mux is on UHF channel 39 from Black Mountain (adjacent to Divis).

If, when manual tuning, there is an option for mode - DVB-T or DVB-T2 - then the latter should be selected.

Hi Liam!

Dave Lindsay is correct about receiving RTE from Blackmountain but if you are trying to receive Saorview you need an aerial (elements vertical) pointing towards Newry direction to receive Saorview as the transmitter is located at Clermont Carn near Omeath. This transmitter transmits on UHF Channel 52 and carries RTE1, RTE2, TV3, TG4, RTE News (from 7pm), 3e and during the daytime RTE Jr. (children's programming until 7pm) and RTE1+1. There are a selection of Radio channels: RTE Radio 1, RTE 2FM, RTE Lyric FM, RTE Radio na Gaeltachta, RTE Radio 1 Extra, RTE Pulse, RTE 2XM, RTE Gold and RTE Jr. Radio.

Now Channels are going to come at a later time on Channel 57 - no date as yet.

Let me know how you get on.

Regards

Kieran

Saorview Mux II should be on channel 56 Kieran, not 57.

It's rumoured on Boards.ie that some services could start in the new year i.e. start of 2014. RTE One HD for example.

PJH: Will it use DVB-T2, or will it be DVB-T so as to be compatible with current Saorview devices?

Hi PJH!

I know there was some discussion about the second multiplex being on UHF Channel 56 but current information from this site indicates UHF Channel 57 (https://ukfree.tv/txdetail.php?a=SB173735)

Things may change in the next few months but I haven't heard anything at this time.

Regards

Kieran

Thanks Brian.

According to boards.ie it does fire up periodically, but I haven't seen anything since January.

There's speculation it may start in the new year with RTE One HD etc.
