Jo Moor: Please do a "first time install". This is more likley to work when a channel changes multiplex.

Otherwise you might be left with Film4 in the 800 channel range.

Jo Moor: If it's like my UE26EH5000, you simply need to do an Auto Retune.

Looking at the manual for your TV, you should press the Menu button, then select Broadcasting, Auto Tuning. The previous channel list will be deleted and the channels will be detected from scratch.

My TV asks whether I want to retune analogue channels, digital channels or both. I just select 'digital channels' since I don't have any analogue equipment.

If you're using the Touch Remote, press More then press Menu on the touch area to get to the menu.

My postcode is SG12 7QA (Herts)
My digibox seems to be 'forgetting' channels especially Film 4 (15). I've tried retuning without the aerial first-it then has to be auto-retuned twice to get the usual 119 channels. Then after the digibox and tv have been switched to standby and back on again I have lost number 15 and about 28 other channels.
My roof aerial points the same way as when I had
analogue signal. Recently it seems I am just losing number 15 so every time I want to watch film 4 I do a retune-I will check whether it is available on 791 though. Yes film 4 will lose customers-things are ridiculously complicated!

Roger Kent: Any Freeview box that loses channels after having been switched off is an indication that its tuners memory is overloaded hence drops the channels when its temporary memory store is unpowered.

You should carry out a "first time installation" as that wipes out everything stored, this being followed by a normal auto-tune.

By the way first time installation can also be called "default setting" or "factory reset" dependant on the brand of equipment.

I have lost Film 4. The message "Film 4 has moved. If you can see this message at Channel 15 please retune your Freeview equipement" shows.
However, on doing an Auto Retune, this message still appears, and Film 4 is not found in the 800s or anywhere else. Seems it has been lost!

John G: Some TV's or boxes require a "first time installation" to be carried out as a standard auto-tune does not completely clear the tuners memory of all stored in it, this procedure also being described on some brands as "factory reset" / "default settings" or some similar sounding term.

By the way (15) Film4 now on the same multiplex as ITV1, and the message you refer to is "only" seen on Film4's original location.

dox: Some TV's or boxes require a "first time installation" to be carried out rather than the standard auto-tune which in some instances fails to completely clear the tuners memory of any remnants of channels stored in it, "first time installation" being described on some brands as "factory reset" / "default settings" or some similar sounding term.

However, before carrying out the aforementioned procedure you could try carrying out another auto-tune "but with the aerial removed", once completed which might result in a "no signal" or "no channels stored" message being seen, reconnect the aerial and carry out a second auto-tune.

andy: No matter how many times you have retuned your TV this message is an indication that its not up to date.

Some TV's or boxes require whats known as a "first time installation" to be carried out, this also known as "factory reset" / "default setting" or some similar sounding name dependant on brand, this in most instances curing the problem.
