t shreenan: If you want to retain Freeview reception in the bedrooms as well as being able to via Sky, then the main input from your Freeview aerial will be connected into the Sky boxes aerial input socket.

You then connect the "feed" thats presently used to supply the three bedrooms with a Freeview signal into your Sky boxes RF1 output socket, then provided that the Sky box is powered Freeview should still be receivable as before.

Finally switch one of the bedroom TV's over from DVB to analogue and then proceed to carry out a rescan on the TV whilst its set on analogue to pick up the Sky boxes RF modulator, storing the analogue channel on the TV once complete.

By the way, make sure that a channel has been selected on the Sky box before carrying out the analogue scan on the bedroom TV.

You then repeat this procedure with the other two TV's.

Jean H - are you perchance using satellite?

And by "adverse" meaning snow?

I lose satellite when the dishes fill with snow! I presume this is normal - what do others experience?

john hewitt: The card slot on a Sky+ HD box is located under a drop down flap situated on the "lower" right hand side of the box.

Just a quick note:
On your DAB transmitter page, you're still missing the Wolverhampton & Shropshire (11B) multiplex which has been going for years.
The MuxCo platform for Wrexham & Cheshire is now testing and apparently the Northamptonshire platform is supposed to be launching on March 28th.

Jean h/ Steve P- snow, thick fog and heavy rain can affect satellite signals
also the adverse weather doesn't have to be in your immediate area to cause you problems

emz : There are no "Freeview" channels on your Sky box because it receives signals from a satellite whereas Freeview is the brand name of the terrestrial system.

An aerial, irrespective of how great it's amplified, will not allow you to watch the output of the Sky box; it doesn't work that way.

If you wish to watch the output of the Sky box in another room, then this will likely be via the normal aerial lead. The TV you are using will need to have an analogue tuner built-in. Analogue is the system used before digital (i.e. before switchover to Freeview).

Rather than running a cable from your lounge to your bedroom, run one from the dish to the bedroom and get a (cheap) Freesat receiver.

Or, alternatively, install a terrestrial aerial for the bedroom (to use with the Freeview receiver built in to the TV).

emz you have a plethora of possible Freeview sources at good strengths so you may be able to receive it with an indoor aerial - amplified or not. try a "Sketchley loop" (wire coathanger pulled into a square) or a wire in the coax socket centre.
The only way you just might get freeview from your sky dish is from the cable and the lump of metal. As an aerial it is the wrong sort pointing the wrong way.
Ask your neighbouts what they do. Or a local ae installer might tell you what you need - and how much! (LL145HD)
