Are there any planned engineering works or unexpected transmitter faults on the Tacolneston (Norfolk, England) mast?

UK Free TV shows the coverage area for a radio transmitter as a coloured overlay (orange for FM, other colours for DAB) on the grey map. We have computed the coverage by combining the terrain with the official radiation pattern. A single click will select the transmitter to view the coverage for a single site, and a double click goes to a page showing full details. Click on the buttons in the right-hand corner of the map to choose from different frequencies (or multiplexes for DAB).

Are EPG available on our DAB radio broadcasts as I would like to use this facility to be able to set up auto recordings to an SD card on our hi-fi Thsnks

Robert Bell: I had a "Lobster 700" DAB device once that had access to an EPG that was provided as part of the DAB broadcasts.

Many receivers will show then "now and next" information.

It will really depend on the type of receiver you have if an EPG is shown and scheduled recording can be made.

Are DAB+ transmissions available from the Tacolneston transmitter?

If so, which programmes?

Thanks in advance

DAB is promoted as a country-wide service, but near Aldeburgh, Suffolk, DAB reception is almost impossible, even with a loft aerial. Surely there must be plans to address this?

Chris W: All the existing DAB rollout plans were completed last year (BBC national stations are at 97% coverage, D1 National and local muxes cover around 90% of UK population). It's expected that plans for further expansion to fill remaining DAB coverage gaps will only be announced once the government confirm the date for a digital radio switchover.

My DAB radio has had a no service message since 1/11/21.
There is ongoing work on the Tacolneston transmitter but no mention of a break in the service. Please can anyone tell me if DAB is no longer available in my area or if it's only a temporary breakdown.
Thanks.

Julia Hanson: There has been no announcement of any DAB transmitters closing that I have seen. Which stations have you tried listening to? The work currently taking place may be affecting DAB transmissions if the transmitter power needs to be turned down or switched off for engineers to work on the mast safely.

Julia Hanson:

Just to add, the BBC aren't reporting any faults (but that won't include engineering work at lower power).
Are you able to try your radio in an upstairs window facing the direction of the transmitter?
