To deal with the problem you must clear the channel list completely and then rescan - if your box has it in the menus, please the 'installation menu' to do an initial scan or a reset to factory settings or First Time Installation. You MUST delete the entire existing list of channels. On most boxes this technique can be also be used:

Try this:

1) unplug your Freeview box (or idTV) from the mains;

2) unplug the aerial from the Freeview box by disconnecting the cable from the 'RF in' socket;

3) wait 30 seconds;

4) plug Freeview box (or idTV) mains back in;

5) do a complete scan for channels - it will fail without the aerial. (This may be in the installation or initialization menu, and is distinct from any 'add channels option'). Once this is done your channel line up should be empty;

6) reinsert aerial by reconnecting to the 'RF in' connection;

7) do a complete scan for channels again.

The Freeview channel line-up provided by six "multiplexes" - each of which carry five or more TV channels, radio channels, text services and EPG data. In this diagram each ROW represents a multiplex. If you are still missing a whole multiplex (ie everything on the row) you may need to replace your aerial with a wideband type, purchase a larger aerial or you may have interference from a VCR, games console, Sky Digibox or similar.

simon: It looks like you should have a practical certainty of reliable reception. The Keighley transmitter should be your best bet.

The Sharp is a very new box and should conform to D-Book 6, tuning the best quality signal. Still, it may be worth checking to see if there is an option to automatically retune, and turn that option off - it's possible the box is trying to switch to the weaker off-beam signal from Oxenhope.

You could confirm this by checking that the UHF channel is still shown as C61 after the picture is lost.

You're so close to Keighley that you could have too much signal. If you have a booster, try removing it. You might even need an attenuator.

Otherwise, try contacting Sharp support at Sharp United Kingdom - Sharp

Post Code CV2. I have a bush sd freesat box connected to my sky dish for which i still pay a subscription. I have managed to install some channels but basics like BBC and ITV come on only for a few seconds and then click off again. Any ideas? Fred H.

Hi Simon,

I also have the Tu-T2 and I am in Wakefield so tuned to Emley Moor,

We are also having issues with the BBC, BBC One is fine but we also lose the other BBC channels from the EPG after a few seconds of viewing!

However, My other BBC channels appear in the 800s on the EPG so although not ideal I can still watch them,

Hopefully whatever the issue, It's sorted after stage 2 of DSO!

fred hadlum: I would check, with the power off, that the satellite cable is properly connected to the Freesat box. In particular ensure that there is not single strand of the outer "shielding" of the cable touching the "inner wire".

Terry, I live nearby in CV11 and have the same problems

See my earlier post for details. I have had ongoing similar problem with EPG/reception on my Bush HDD recorder purchased etc 5 Sept from Argos.I am also getting pixellation,freezing and loss of reception on all channels but particularly the "new" BBC Channels for ALL their channels not just BBC1 when watching "live" TV via this device. This has got progressively worse since the weekend when I last posted and the device is now totally unusable for all practical purposes My other 2 boxes and 2 Samsung TVs all work perfectly.(fingers crossed for post 21st) The Bush HDD recorder also worked perfectly prior to 7 September(its purportedly a new recorder manufactured this year according to its batch number so it can't be defunct either !I accept different devices have different levels of sensitivity and whilst one device is ok another isn't) I was told eaxactly the same as you by Argos Technical support i.e that this will correct after 21 September. Are we being fobbed off ?or have been sold equipment not fit for purpose ? Who knows ? But if we are... I suspect that various retailers etc will be inundated with calls and requests for refunds on 22 September for faulty goods and Digital UK will be inundated also but for the moment I will give them the benefit of the doubt during this transition period......but it certainly seems that there are monumental problems throughout the region with receiving transmissions on some equipment(and equipment that should actually work being brand new or at the required spec)

By the by I have carried out the above procedure...Several times andit has made absolutely no difference whatsoever
