I live in Kidderminster and before the retune on the 21st Sept I had more DTV channels.
I thought that the 2nd retune would add channels not remove them?

I receive siganal from the Kidderminster transmitter is there an alternative that could be used?

The aerial is on the roof.

John Dusconi: My guess is that you were away when Sutton Coldfield switched over. You need to do a full retune of your box. Look for a full retune, default setting, full reset, first-time installation, 'virgin mode' or 'reinstall all channels' option.

If the manual doesn't make it clear how to do this, try looking at TV Re-tune .

John Dusconi: DSO stage2 took place in the West Midlands on 21st September 2011. Do a factory reset on your Freeview box and scan for channels or retune to the new frequencies manually. You do not say whether you were receiving Freeview from Sutton Coldfield previously, or whether you started to receive it for the first time from the Kidderminster relay on 7th September. Doing a retune should restore your reception. If you used to have all muxes from S/C but still cannot receive anything after rescanning check that the box is not on the list of equipment that does not support the 8k mode.

John Daly: You now need a wideband aerial to receive all the services from the Bromsgrove transmitter.

John Daly: Since you don't mention problems on Pick TV (LCN 11) or Yesterday (LCN 12), which also require a wideband aerial, I'm going to guess that you have some device interfering with C41. If you have a Sky box from which you distribute channels around your home, you will need to retune it. See Single Frequency Interference for more information.

Signal levels are also generally increased, it's possible you could now have too much signal. See Freeview signals: too much of a good thing is bad for you | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice .

My PVR recordings jump on playback since switch over. Signal is very good, with roof aerial. I am only 0.5 miles from Brierley Hill transmitter.

P.R.: This could possibly be due to the PVR receiving a signal that's on the verges of being too powerful, and you should take measures to reduce this slightly by the inclusion of a simple attenuator in line with the aerial socket.

Of course another check you could make is to try a set top aerial, that is should you be in a situation whereby that would work!
