I receive Freeview via Sandy Heath Transmitter - line of sight - and have always had great reception. Since switchover have lost two thirds of channels, tried rescanning etc. I have a powered indoor aerial, that should be up to the job. I watch through PlayTV on PS3 but this is also the same on newish Sony Bravia Digital TV any suggestions? Thanks.

hi, can you tell me if the local council are responsible for ensuring a digital ariael is available to a towerblock? Currently all the flats have a Virgin media connection just to get regular channels 1-5, and our switchover (Crystal Palace) is next year so we do not have a strong enough signal to get freeview on digiboxes at the moment. We are having many problems with this issue. thanks gin

Briantist: A news item on the SES ASTRA web site states that Astra 2E will be launched in the second quarter of 2013 on bound a Ariane 5 rocket from the Guiana Space Centre. The satellite will have both KU band and KA band transponders.

ginny: It shouldn't make too much of a difference.

The Communications Act 2003 provides you with a "right" under section 244 to have access to a digital television service.

It does not provide that anyone else should pay for that access, however.

The council may opt to having Virgin providing you will free access to the public service channels without a subscription, but you have every right to access Freeview if it available in your area.
