sheilah: Yes as far as Freeview from Belmont and Emley Moor is concerned, this being due to engineering work taking place at both transmitters during this week.

But though this is only likely to result in the occasional short break in transmission or alternatively slightly reduced quality (glitching etc) and not anything of a lengthy nature.

MICHAEL: Here in NE Derby DE21 4PX (Chaddesden/Oakwood area) we have also lost a lot of channels on all TVs/digiboxes, 'no signal' - have retuned both digiboxes and now it's telling us that strongest signal is from Cambs & Beds, then E Anglia, then London, and only fourthly East Midlands (which is the one I want - Waltham transmitter I think). East Midlands keeps cutting out to 'no signal' on many channels - all the ones I want to watch for local news etc. I was just about to ring a TV aerial chap because I thought pigeons had moved my (chimney stack mounted) aerial, then by going online I have found problems and remedial works going on with transmitters that affect my and many other areas. Why on earth are these not given more publicity in the areas they affect. We often used to get our 'local' news from your area, Hull and Humberside, before we got separate digiboxes and attached them to the so-called 'digital' TVs. Hope yours gets sorted soon.

Chrissy: The current weather conditions are enabling out of area radio and TV transmissions to travel further than normal. This results in reception like you have described, with some regions that are not normally available coming in loud and clear, whilst the signal you do want possibly suffers from interference when a distant transmitter using the same frequency blocks the normal signal. Signals from East Anglia and also Germany are currently particularly strong.

Hi,
What has gone wrong with our TV's in Horsley Woodhouse, Derbyshire, although some are oddly are working but our row isn't? It keeps saying not tuned or unavailable on all sides, tried retuning twice, nothing ( came back briefly) then has gone again. Can't get any answers, help. There has been no warning of this. When can we expect a full service?

sheilah: Just spotted your reply, and in answer to your question, that provided you did not carry out a retune on finding that they had vanished then you do not require to carry out a retune as the channels will return on their own.

I have in my living room (which is upstairs) a Free Sat tv and a Humax PVR link to my old Sky dish.
I have recently purchase another tv for my kitchen downstairs but hadn't considered that as i have wall to wall bi-fold doors it will be difficult to find somewhere to bring the connecting wires into this room from the dish just above the doors.
Is it possible to have some sort of wireless connection to my dish with a device that connects into my tv and dish?

Moon - Freesat and Freeview are two different platforms. Freesat uses a Satellite signal, hence you need a dish, and freeview uses a terrestrial signal and thats what your TV Aerial/Antenna is used for. You cannot combine either
