The problem could be one of:

- the aerial has been moved or damaged;

- the cables or connectors that connect the digibox to the aerial are damaged;

- the digibox has broken.

If you have a "spare" digibox you use this to test the aerial connection. Can you still watch analogue TV OK?

graham Fry: The Jedburgh transmitter is presently listed on the "Planned Engineering Works" page with the status of "Possible service interruptions", this being applicable as from yesterday 9th, the frequency or duration of the work not stated.

Hilary: We have no idea where you are, but it sounds like the aerial system is duff. Check between where the TV's split off and the aerial.

Hilary: In addition to that said by MikeB. If the aerial outlet sockets in your six rooms are all connected into a powered distribution amplifier, which of course is the norm, then check that the power supply to same has not been accidentally switched off. If though it hasnt, then either the distribution amplifiers internal power unit has failed, or the problem is caused by a defect in your aerial system.

Hi

We're in EH14 just outside Edinburgh and we've had no channels since yesterday early evening. Have just tried a new aerial amplifier but made no difference, no signal on three TV's.

Any clues appreciated the Craigkelly transmitter is apparently reporting no problems.

Thanks

Colin Millar:

We really need a full post code, not just the first part. Then we can see precisely what reception should be like in your location.

There could be many suspected causes, broken aerial cable, fuse failed in the supply to the aerial amplifier, communal aerial failed, etc, etc ...

Can you clarify whilst giving the post code whether the aerial mentioned only feeds your home and no other, that the aerial is still in the same position as previously. Have you tried one of the TVs being fed directly from the aerial?

I'm in the Craigkelly reception area too (KY2 6TP) and although everything was fine last night, I switched on today to find that there's no signal. I've tried re-tuning the HDD recorder I channel my signal through but it's detecting no Freeview signals at all.
There's nothing wrong with the HDD as I can still channel my Sky box signal through it and record OK. The aerial in my loft is only a couple of years old so I can't imagine that's the problem.
Any ideas?

Keith Davies: If the transmitter is fine, then its you. Classic answer - the aerial lead has fallen out. But it could be more serious than that - broken wire coming down from aerial, etc. Just because its only a cuple of years old does not mean that part of it cannot fail. Follow the signal path up and at some pint you'' see what the problem is.
