No. You cannot receive signals from UK Freeview transmitters abroad. You box will be able to receive local "DVB-T" transmittions, if there are any.

You can use satellite equipment pointing at the Astra 2D satellite from some European countries however to get around 100 UK free-to-air channels.

I bought a Technika Freeview TV in the UK before moving to New Zealand. On set-up it scans but finds no digital stations. Is there something else I can try or won't this TV work here?

David: Most of New Zealand uses "Freeview via satellite" so your "Freeview" set may well not work as you won't necessarily had a "digital switchover".

There is a nice site for the service here - Freeview NZ - Your Favorite TV Programmes in Digital Quality - Freeview .

David: Apologies, as the technical parameters for the NZ service are:

MPEG-4 part 10 (H.264, AVC) is used for the video codec and for audio three audio codecs are used:
MPEG-4 HA AAC (up to mono and stereo level 2 bitstream only)
MPEG-1 Layer II/Musicam, audio mode stereo. Sampling rate 32, 44.1 and 48kHz

Only a UK "Freeview HD" box would work, or one of the standard Freeview boxes that happen to have MPEG4, such as BT Vision. Which won't work as you don't have BT Broadband...

Hi..

My parents move to Spain next month.. My mum will miss her UK programmes. IS there any way to catch them in the Benalmadena area from her house?

Mario: Yes, you can use a Freesat box with a suitably large dish - which in the south of Spain may be very large indeed. The best thing to do is to buy a good quality Freesat+HD box for her to take to Spain and to organised the dish with a local installer in Spain.

Marie -There are ex-pat and local installers who advertise installations in the English language paper. Your parents should get someone that's reliable and has a good knowledge of what's required for the area.
