Scripps Networks (who half own UKTV with the BBC) also broadcast the Food Network on Freeview.

Scripps Networks Jon Sichel told Broadcast "The launch on Freeview represents another milestone in the expansion strategy for Travel Channel as a world-class brand. We want to continue to build awareness of our award-winning content and global brands, and this trial block with Freeview is a great partnership that helps us fulfil that goal" (Travel Channel heads to Freeview Broadcast).

Scripps sister-channel Food Network is currently available via Freeview.

Film4 - Great news for Freeview Light

Homes with Freeview Light will be very pleased indeed to hear that they now have Film4 to watch, as the channel has moved to multiplex PSB2.

Freeview Slot 45 is now allocated to Film4+1, which is on the Full-Service-only multiplex of COM6.

I tried removing the aerial as suggested but it didn't work. The set is a Phillips with built in freeview and up 'till now I have had no problems. There isn't a"factory reset" or "default setting" only "manual installation" or"reinstall all services" which I have been doing with no success.

Stuart Ahrens: Yes, on having a quick look at a Philips manual I see what you mean, I find it a bit puzzling though why the "reinstall all services" did not rectify the problem as it should have done, however I would like you to try a test by once again removing the aerial and then carrying out another "reinstall all services" procedure, once completed which might result in a "no channels found" or similar on the screen, but irrespective of what select the programme guide and see if anything is listed, which of course should not be! and if not then reconnect the aerial and carry out a normal retune, giving an up date on results.

If this still fails to resolve the problem I would particularly like to know if anything had been seen in the programme guide "after" having carried out the reinstall all services procedure with the aerial removed.

I have tried everything that you suggested but nothing has worked.
After retuning without the aerial I selected the ELP and got a message telling me that the list was empty and to reinstall all services which I did and channel 14 and 45 were there, no problem, however when I switched of the set completely (not standby) they disappeared again. All the other channels are stored but not film 4 this seems to indicate that the problem is not with my set.
Is there anyone else out there (central Scotland) experiencing the same problem it is driving me daft having to retune every time I want to watch a movie.

Stuart Ahrens: With regards to that said on the subject of the channels being lost if the set is turned off, quite the contrary!! as rather than anything connected with the transmission what you are experiencing could be an indication of a defect in the tuners channel back up memory I.C, and Philips tuners are not exactly strangers to this type of problem.

However on having a study at some of my other Philips manuals I see that a "factory reset" is possible on some models, and so I paste on the info on how to achieve this should your model match up with the instructions, the undermentioned being taken from a manual for the Philips 32PFL5522.

If at some point of time you decide to reset to the factory default settings, press and hold down the MENU key on the side of the TV set for 5 seconds.

A menu will appear on the screen. Repeat steps 1 - 5 as if this was the first time you have turned on the TV.

This activity will reset both the Digital and Analogue mode to factory default settings.

Stuart Ahrens: Also meant to add, that it would be of considerable assistance if the model number of the TV in question was known.

Thank you very much jb38 your last suggestion was spot on, I held the menu button for 5 seconds and it reinstalled both the analogue and digital channels automatically and stored them all so my problem is solved now. Thanks again.

Stuart Ahrens: Excellent news! and something to remember for the future should a problem of a similar nature ever occur again at any time, as this procedure is not displayed in a prominent fashion in Philips manuals.

Anyway thanks for the update and pleased to have been of assistance.

I keep losing Film4. I have to "add new channels" to get it back, but next day it has gone again. The box is a Sony RDR-HXD970. I have tried the advice above; unplug the arial, factory reset; no joy. Can anyone help?
Thanks, Charles Howard
