Modifications made to aerial group markings

Following suggestions, I have made changes to the pages that show information about the aerial groups.

Following suggestions, I have made changes to the pages that sh
published on UK Free TV

Back in March 2009, I added in coloured bars to to show the Aerial groups associated with each of the UHF broadcast frequencies.

I had taken a somewhat "absolute" view of the groups, following the "official" allocations:

In response to the possibilities of three new multiplexes, I have now introduced a more sophisticated version of the colour bars, where frequencies that are out of group, but still provide some signal are indicated with a lighter shade of the group's colour:

This follows the "ITC reference" values that Ofcom and Arqiva use:

Hopefully you will find this useful.

if you don't know - what channels do you receive.

And what sort of aerial; rods sideways or up/down?

Have recently replaced by old analogue TV with a Samsung UE37D5500. Having tuned in the TV it notice that a few channels pixelate badly and the signal is shown as weak i.e. Quest and ITV+1.

However, watching these same channels via by DVD recorder (Panasonic DMR EX75) with built in tuner these same channels are clear.

I think I am pulling the sihnal in from Sutton Coalfield and I an near Stratford on Avon.

Why should the picture be clear via the DVD but pixelate via TV?

Polly Bell:

My guess is that you are receiving your signal from the Lark Stoke transmitter. Is your aerial pointing South West? If so, I think your signal may be too strong, as it is only six miles away from you. Please see

Freeview signals: too much of a good thing is bad for you | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice

as this gives advice on what to do.

Hope this helps,
Adam.
