Hi

I have lost BBCA and ARQA multiplexes since 10th April 2013 on a number of set top boxes around the house. The post code is SK11 0HX and we are served by Winter Hill. I have tried factory resets and retune but that has not worked. I checked the signal intensity and quality for channels 49 and 50 and intensity was around 49% for both. Signal Intensity was 0% most of the time, but on Channel 50 it jumped from 0 to 30 and 0 to 97%. Does this imply some kind of interference?

AK87- you say "a number of set top boxes" does this mean there are boxes working ok ?
what sort of distribution system are you using?
is it powered or not and can you bypass it to use one box straight from the aerial ?
how many tv points do you have ?

Rachel

Check if everyting plugged in properly. Unplug and replug.

Look at your aerial. Ids it still there? Still pointing where it used to?

See if your box will work somewhere else.

Can we, here in Sth. Ireland, get free to air TV from USA in real time (e.g. NBC FOX ABC etc ? What size dish and coordinates would work ? (Brian Bitterworth seems to be off-line still).

Aidan - I know very little about Satellite TV but think it most unlikely that you will be able to get USA Satellite TV, as their satellites are a quarter of the way round the world from us and pointing downwards.

Following the re-tune of Winter Hill All channel 50 stations are giving very poor reception, signal is about 75% but quality is between 3% & 10 %. I have retuned using all the ideas given on the site but no change. Having tuned in some of the neighbours sets I know they are not having the same problem. Some years ago Ofcom installed a filter to stop interference from a local radio ham. Could this be the problem? I have tried to contact Ofcom but it is impossible.
