We receive Freeview from the Carmel transmitter and were receiving yesterday. This morning there were no channels and rescanning indicates 0 digital channels found after following your recommended procedure. I am keen to watch Wales RU this afternoon. Post code is SA19 8SE. I noted that there were engineering works to transmitter 29/30 Jan. Could this still be affecting me?

Neil: If you use a signal amplifier, maybe to distribute to signals to multiple rooms, its failure is likely to mean no signals coming out.

I have moved house and cancelled my sky but they left box and card with me, when i connect my hd tv to aerial i get 4/5 BBC and it4 HD channels and other regular channels.
Is there a way i can use sky to make things better for me.
I like their interface, if i can use thjat box to view free channels that will be great.

thanks,
VP

Vaibhav: Not unless your new house has a feed from a satellite dish as the Sky box is of no use without it, if though its a Sky+ box you "might" still be able to play back previously made recordings if Sky has not as yet blocked use of this side of the box, as they will do.

I have a TV with built in freeview but I want to connect it to my V+ box. This was disconnected from the old tv a while ago and I don't know how to reconnect them. Currently I just have one white cable plugged into the V+ box, but I don't know where this goes and then what I need to connect to the TV.

Thank you for your unhelpful responce. Yes I am aware of the tooltip feature. In the map recieved by me there are several blobs of differeing colours: 3 different shades of green, 2 shades of pink, a few grey patches and several white patches. My guess, and it is no more than a guess, is that the white patches signify areas where no service is possible. Contrarry to your assertion, there is no explanation of the significance of these colours on the map displayed on my computer, no matter what scale is displayed. P{lease can we have a more helpful response this time.

Helena: The method used to connect the V+ box to your TV depends entirely on the type of sockets fitted on the rear of your TV, and if your "old" TV only has one single socket then first of all make sure that the V+ box is in standby then connect the V+ box into the TV using a scart lead between both, then when you take the V+ box out of standby the TV should switch over to it.

This of course is the simplest way of doing things, but there are two different types of V+ boxes including an HD version and so maybe you could check the label on the box (either on rear or the underside) and give an update on what type it is.

It would also be of assistance to know what model your TV is, however whats been said is based on the assumption that your V+ box is still connected to the wall box and is operational?

screw white cable into far left socket(see pic)
connect your Virgin Media V+ box to your telly using the RF aerial socket(see picture its the black cable)
Tune TV into to channel 52 to get V+ on screen.
Hold the up & down keys together & press reset.
Hold up & down keys for approx 15 secs until diagram is displayed.
Left & right keys move pages.
page 2 has RF setting.
Key down to RF setting then OK.
Up arrow changes from channel 52 to say channel 62. OK again.
Down arrow to save settings & reboot.
Retune TV to the new RF channel.
if TV has a scart socket (strange black block with holes in it there's 2 of them 1 below the other.plug scart lead into top 1(says tv)then other end of scart cable into tv.switch tv on then v+ on and it should auto switch to it.if you get stuck here's a good link

re- the map?
if you hover the curser over the transmitter you are interested in,
you will get info of how many and which frequency's MAY be affected.
it also says they do not yet know for sure who will be affected until 4G roll out their plan?
hope this helps?
