sean baker: Not unless you had a Sky box that was dedicated to serving your bedroom (whether local or remote such as in your living room).

Sky and Freeview are separate systems.

jb38: thanks for your comments earlier this month.
Your comment that it could be trees etc in the signal path is, I think, now proved as the arrival of the snow hanging on the trees everywhere has made ITV3 almost useless. I even had a few "flecks" on BBC2.
This morning I did a complete retune on both boxes (which seems to make no difference) and hope all will return to normal now that the thaw has arrived.
Thanks again for your help.

I have a sky dish, but want to connect it to my LG tv aerial socket on the TV as the TV has Freeview built in on it.... will the sky dish act as a receiver like a normal aerial on the roof....I have run an extra cable from the dish to the room upstairs...but couldn't find any F-screw socket on the back of the TV ....can I just fit the right type of connection for the aerial socket

Tommy: No because the dish points at a satellite which is in geo-stationary orbit above the equator and the terrestrial transmitter (for Freeview) is on the ground and quite a bit closer to home.

You need a terrestrial aerial.

Tommy if you have a strong signal you MIGHT find the sat dish - or rather the wire to it - will work.

As might a bent coathanger.

Good afternoon,

I was wondering if you could help me? I have a Sky+ HD box in the front room connected up to the quad plexer. I have wired up the TV out in to the aerial in on the sky box and the RF out into the playback and are unable to get any TV signal in the Two bedrooms. Could you please explain how to wire it up or if I am doing something wrong please?

Paul S: To operate TV's in another location using the Sky boxes RF1 analogue output socket you simply run a cable from this socket to your distribution amplifiers input and that takes care of that side of it.

If the TV's in the second / third location are Freeview capable sets as well as analogue (used for the Sky box) then your normal aerial thats used for Freeview reception is connected into the Sky boxes aerial "input" socket and the Freeview signal as well as the Sky's RF modulator output is fed to your other TV's, you selecting which one you require by selecting either DVB or analogue on the TV's.

Once all is connected up then both your bedroom TV's will require to be auto tuned whilst set on analogue to pick up the RF modulator channel that the Sky box is set to.

You havent actually mentioned anything about a magic eye being used for channel changing purposes, but if you are then it would be the Sky boxes RF2 that would be used and the power for same turned on in the Sky boxes set up menu.

Maybe you could mention if you are intending to use a magic eye as your distribution amp may not be suitable.

Hi. I have a problem with my sky+hd box. The green telephone light is stuck on and I have looked at all setting but nothing found. I have sky multiroom. The green light has been on for hours now. I have no signal due to bad weather gale force winds here in Pembrokeshire since last night. Anyone help me. My husband uses a pole and can get signal back but because of the wind it goes again.
