Mr bale:

The partial post code given is insufficient to show anything about your reception conditions. Please give a full post code then we can see which of over 1100 transmitters your are using and what the expected reception is like. You could also enter the full post code into the Digital UK Coverage Checker at Digital UK - Coverage checker It may be that the recent changes have moved some channels to frequencies that your current aerial is unable to receive. A number of the changes require people to now use a wideband aerial. If that is the case for you, then ring 0808 100 0288, the Freeview Advice line number.

Do sky still provide free sky boxes to pensioners now if their existing one no longer works?

MrE: Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? Please provide a full postcode so that we can see which transmitter you're using, where you are in relation to it and your predicted coverage etc.

Every time I have to retune, I lose more and more channels. Now have no ITV channels, Ch 4, More 4, Ch 5 etc.

I think this is an appalling system. I won't use the word 'service' because it isn't one!

Glyn: We need a full postcode so that we can see which transmitter you should be receiving. It's quite likely that you have a fault somewhere, have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV?

Glyn:

Or you may need an aerial change because yours may be an old group aerial that won't receive all the multiplexes since they went to the new UHF channels, but as has been said we need a full postcode to confirm that.
If that's the case, then providing you don't have Satellite or Cable TV you can get free help by contacting the Freeview Advice line on 0808-100-0288 where they should be offering to send an engineer to replace your aerial with a Group T / Wideband or Group K (depending on your transmitter) which is what you'll need to have satisfactory reception of all multiplexes.

Glyn:

Freeview transmitters serve thousand or even millions of viewers. If there was a fault giving rise to problems as you report then thousands or millions would have been complaining. Hence it very strongly suggests you may well have a fault condition within your system. So please help my fellow contributors and I to assist you by giving us a full post code and a house number/name. Then we can look up the expected reception conditions at you specific location. Then, and only then, we may be able to suggest suitable solutions.
